Ebay account question.?

I am looking Into getting a ebay account to sell some things along with buy some things. But when you create the account do you give your bank Information or your credit card Information for your account so that you can buy and sell things. I thought that all ran through paypal when you buy or sell It goes throw paypal. Basically I am wondering how It all kinda works. I wanna get a account to sell some Items so what would I need to give them as far as Information so that they can get my money to me and so that I can pay the seller fees. Like I am kinda Just confused on weather you give then your bank Information or If you give them your credit card Information or what all that has to do with a paypal account. If you could kinda explain what I need to give ebay for my account along with what I would use for selling stuff with seller fees the safe way. I am asking to let my dad know what he would need to give for the account. Will you need a credit card or anything to get your money from selling things or make a seperate paypal account or what lol.
