How do I get a girl that is out of my league?

I'm a rising senior in high school and there is a girl that is driving me insane. No joke, this is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my life. The best part is I'm pretty sure she's not a whore, and she doesn't dress like a total slut. She's up at the top of the high school food chain with the popular kids. I know some guys that are friends with her and I told them to put a good word in for me, to the fulfillment of my dream she told my friend she thought I was attractive. But I can still never get the guts to talk to her because I just think she's so out of my league. From what other people tell me I have a great personality and everything and I'm an extremely funny guy. I just don't know how to handle a girl like this.
