What's wrong with my pug?

So my pug Roxie is 5 or 6 years of age. She isn't eating nor is she sleeping at night. At night she will just bark and howl until someone comes and opens you kennel (which she sleeps in). And then she will bark and whine until my Mom sleeps with her. We took her to the vet and the vet said that she might have arthritis. Except he doesn't know for sure. So the vet gave her some pills. We have been giving them to her, but she still isn't eating and still isn't sleeping. She usually has no problems with sleeping in a kennel. She is fine with drinking. The doctor also said to lift up her bowls so she doesn't have a hard time bending down (since she has arthritis in her neck) So we put her bowls on some books, and she has no problem drinking from her water bowl. So i don't think her eating habits have to do with the books. Do you know what's wrong with my dog? I want her to live the rest of her life in fulfillment. I know it's hard for pugs to get better when they get sick, so i wanted help. She doesn't seem in pain, she is still playing. Thanks.
